Flagship Project: The Ultramax Copper Carrier

To showcase its technological leadership and spur industry adoption, Pherousa Shipping — a subsidiary — has developed the conceptual design for a fully electric Ultramax vessel, tailored for the copper industry. Copper’s critical role in electrification and decarbonization underscores the need for sustainable logistics. The majority of global copper is sourced far from key Asian smelters and refiners; an emission-free shipping link is thus essential.

Partnering with Deltamarin in Finland, the Ultramax design integrates Pherousa’s Ammonia-Hydrogen technology and holds AiPs from ABS and DNV. The vessel promises zero-CO2 emissions (tank-to-wake) across international routes, setting a new benchmark for sustainable marine transport.
